What Alpine amplifier do you recommend with my Alpine subwoofer/subwoofers?

When choosing an amplifier to match with your subwoofer/subwoofers you want to make sure the RMS power rating of the amplifier is at least equal to the RMS power rating of your subwoofer/subwoofers.

  • It is better to have an amplifier that is equal to or exceeds the RMS power rating of your subwoofers. If you have an amplifier that has a higher RMS power rating than your subwoofer/subwoofers you need only to exercise good judgment since your speakers will tell you when you are over driving them.
  • If you have an amplifier that does not meet or falls significantly short of the RMS power rating of your subwoofer/subwoofers it is far easier to damage your drivers by driving the amplifier past its limits into "clipping" In severe cases your amplifier with start to output DC voltage which will damage your subwoofers quickly.
